Summer is gone!

Another summer has come and gone. We were blessed with good weather in Thunder Bay allowing us to take several trips along North Shore of Lake Superior to the U.S. border at Minnesota. Me and three other quilt ladies do the one-hour drive to pick up my Internet orders at Ryden’s store - my two sewing machines, quilting swaps, other times to mail or receive parcels from our family in Utah.. Bill’s health has had some ups and downs. On the bad days, he is very tired and caring for him takes up a lot of my time. On a sad note, my 49-year old nephew passed away from cancer, leaving behind a beautiful wife and 2 great kids.
Bill and I were happy to have our son Al home for a week in October.

Ryden's US-Canadian Border Store.
Love that place.

At our quilter's retreat, friends asked me if I would make a quilt top from blocks donated by Barbara. Maria will quilt the top, then the quilt will be auctioned off and the proceeds go to St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.

I made two more birthday basket blocks, one for Heather one for Maria.

I joined Aunt Pitty Pat’s Halloween block swap. I made my 15 blocks from scraps of skull fabrics, using the pattern, square in a square. We send our blocks to Marcel, (Aunt Pitty Pat is her dog’s name) and she'll put them together, then she'll send each of us a set.

My sister Monica, my husband Bill, and my dear nephew Tom.
RIP, I will miss you.
