Paul Sundberg Bio.
Born and raised on a small farm south of McGregor, Minnesota, my love of wild places began early. I started taking nature photos in the early 1970's when I purchased my first 35mm SLR camera while serving in the military at Fort Bliss, Texas. Photographing the North Shore became a passion when my wife Karla and I moved to Cascade River State Park in 1976. Our family relocated to Gooseberry Falls State Park in 1983. As manager of the park, I have the opportunity to share my knowledge of the North Shore with many park visitors.

Thunder Bay, On
September 2010, an unusually severe wind storm struck Thunder Bay and Northwestern Minnesota. Thunder Bay is 50 miles from the US border. Me and many of my quilter friends enjoy going to "Crystals Log Cabin Quilts" in Grand Marais, Mn for a retreat or to vist her quilt shop. The above pictures were taken at Grand Marais during the storm.

  1. Wow! Those photos are incredible! It's amazing how coastal towns can survive Nature's violence like that.

    So beautiful!
